A peaceful break from reality (sort of)

This week I have been at the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Officers Association Spring Workshop. The workshop is being held at Paris Landing State Park. While there is a lot to do back home, I decided this week would be a stress free break from the reality I have to return to Friday. The view from my balcony is incredible! I have spent a lot of time there this week clearing my brain.

This morning the board members met on the patio. There were several squirrels out and about but there was one particular squirrel who seemed to enjoy our presence. Or maybe he just enjoyed the fact that we had snacks. Either way, he didn't mind us being there and I definitely didn't mind sharing my snack with him.

The Rusty Propeller

Where I got my start...
The Rusty Propeller specializes in the buying and selling of unique antiques, including vintage toys, automobilia, americana, and war items. Check out their Facebook page to see some fantastic examples of eclectic antiques and vintage decorating.

Every second Friday of each month they hold an antique auction!

Visit their Ebay store, TheRustyPropeller.

Progress at 31 Main Street

This is the store the day I moved furniture in... lots of work ahead!

So I decided that 14 different colors of carpet just didn't suit me. Next project: ripping up 20 year old carpet in the new store. And look at the gorgeous ORIGINAL wood floors!!! I'm so in love! Some may see a mess... I see potential!

So I found out today that the walls of the new store are just as gorgeous and rustic as the floors! I can't wait to pull down all the paneling and Sheetrock! I'm thinkin the color is perfect and will be awesome against antique white floors!!!

Progress! Carpet gone and amazing original walls revealed! And we even found a window that we didn't know existed!

Finally seeing progress! This is the front room by the entry way of the store.

More pics coming soon!

This weeks progress!

31 Main Street

A few months ago I met an amazing couple that have an antique store in Rossville, TN. Geoff and Jessica Bushnor gladly excepted my request to become a dealer and set up my "junk" in a booth inside the store. Since becoming a dealer at The Rusty Propeller I have learned so much about the "junking" and antique world. Jessica is one of the most amazing women I have ever met. She truly defines the word "fabulous"! I couldn't have asked for a better place to get my start.
Last week Jessica and Geoff made the decision to discontinue the dealer side of the store and continue with auctions twice per month. This was a long, thought out family decision so I completely understood. So there I was with a decision of my own to make... "Where am I going to put all of my product???" After a whole bunch of prayer, looking at other stores to set up booths and many phone calls I've made the decision to open my own store! I have dreamed of having my own business for a very long time and God is answering my prayers daily! The store is located in downtown Oakland, TN. The building itself has been closed up for over a year and it is going to take a lot of hard work to get it back in shape but with prayer and patience I believe it will be "fabulous"! I will post more about the store as we go along and I will be updating everyone soon on an opening date. Y'all keep those prayers going for an incredible outcome. God is listening.
